Roy Gunnett reports:
The Macclesfield Shield 10 miles race was held over the new out and back course over 5 laps. Weather conditions were sunny and cool.

Adrian Edwards led the race from start to finish and won the scratch race by a large nine minute margin. Guest walker Stuart Edgar walked well throughout and was a clear second.
The rest of the field battled it out over the tough, hilly Macclesfield course for the minor places. The course took its toll on the walkers with most slowing on the last lap. The exception was Phil McCullagh who put in a late burst of speed.
Joe Hardy won the handicap and was awarded the Macclesfield Shield – a trophy he won thirty years ago!
Marshall and Kath Barnard as usual provided excellent post-race refreshments and presented Easter eggs to the first three in the handicap.
