Hi Tony and everyone
I’m scratching my head about the fixture tomorrow. I haven’t had an email or text message about it, and the fixtures list just says ‘Chorley’. There isn’t a fixtures tab on the website, or a ‘Contacts’ tab, but maybe the website could include that as well.
Information about fixtures and venues, and who to contact, would be good for prospective members, but also for existing members.
Hi – I’m based in the south but I’m due to be up north for a weekend and I wondered if it would be possible to compete in your race at bury on May 25th only I don’t have any information about how to enter. Is it ok to just turn up on the day? Thanks so much.
Best wishes
Penelope Cummings
Penelope – it would be great if you can make it – simply turn up on the day. It’s a 1.30 p.m. start at the Bury Track – see a map on the Club Venues page. Any other info phone Tony on 07547195092 – although he’s in Greece it’s a UK number. Best Wishes.

Hi Tony,
I have been wondering and searching how to send a message to the club because I have some photos that you may be interested in, some going back to the 1950s. Could you advise please.
A name from the past.

Well done to everyone who finished the 100. Well done to Jonathan Hobbs winning the race on his first attempt, more to come from him. John cannell,c388
have you any information on John proctor from the 50’s. I found a 20 mile world record from 1950 at auction from your club. I’m in Australia.
Information on J W Proctor at http://racewalkingassociation.com/archive/ViewArchive.asp?mm=May&yy=1950&t=12&m=100&p=7. 20 miles win. Worth reading all 1950 editions as mentioned throughout the year.
Indeed John was a magnificent walker from the Sheffield stable of great athletes. Thanks for the nudge.
I tried to reply to Martin Criddles post but WordPress wouldn’t let me. Always of interest to me of our events history.
