On a personal note [ and I don’t think it’s just my hobby horse] we are still struggling to find a couple of flat road courses, where we can improve both technique and speed.Funnily enough I was looking back at club races from fifty years ago and there were any number of flattish, fast courses at such places as Denton, Wythenshawe, Urmston, Leigh, Bolton and indeed the West Didsbury HQ, all of which have fallen foul of the all-consuming automobile. It’s not that we didn’t have courses of character like Chorley and Sutton Macclesfield. We were just lucky enough to have a greater diversity of venues. As things stand I believe we are exploring whether the Northern 10, March 18 might be held on the Woodbank Park circuit, Stockport, which would be excellent.
